Gambia confirmed their status as the team to beat, retaining the KAFCON title with a 2–0 win over Zimbabwe in the final at the Cheonan Football Center.
Played over the Chuseok holiday, the 2023 edition brought eight nations together, with Gambia seeing off Senegal, Gabon and Kenya on the way to the final.
